Cassandra Good, Ph.D.

Cassandra A. Good is a writer and historian focusing on gender, politics, and culture in early America. She received her Ph.D. in history from the University of Pennsylvania and is the author of two books: Founding Friendships: Friendships Between Men and Women in the Early American Republic (Oxford, 2015) and First Family: George Washington's Heirs and the Making of America (Hanover Square, 2023). Her work has been supported by institutions including the National Endowment for the Humanities, the George Washington Library at Mount Vernon, the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. She was previously the Associate Editor of the Papers of James Monroe, and she currently serves as Associate Professor of History at Marymount University.
